WPG@LAK: Dubois tips in second goal to put Jets ahead

LOS ANGELES -- Pierre-Luc Dubois scored twice in the Winnipeg Jets' 3-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on Thursday.

Kyle Connor had three assists and the Jets (4-2-1) won their fourth straight. Eric Comrie made 30 saves in his season debut.
Connor has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) during a five-game point streak.
"That's one of the toughest things to do in this League is get on a streak, get on a roll, to be able to stack a couple, especially on the road," Connor said. "It's good. I think we can build off these games."

Rasmus Kupari and Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings (1-5-1), who are 0-5-1 in their past six games. Jonathan Quick allowed three goals on 31 shots.
"We're finding ways to lose games right now, which is a coach's cliche, but that's a fact," Kings coach Todd McLellan said. "We're a goal short every night and we're finding a way to be a goal short, so we've got to polish things up."
Dubois tipped Connor's pass in after getting behind Kings center Anze Kopitar and defenseman Olli Maatta to put the Jets ahead 3-2 at 7:35 of the third period.
"Luc is hot right now, get him the puck," Connor said. "And he's just one of those big bodies going to the net. He's got that straight line speed and he's tough to cover."
Dubois has nine points (six goals, three assists) during an NHL career-best six-game point streak.
"One thing that I've been working on is just trying to be consistent," Dubois said. "It's a long season, and I've gone stretches without scoring for many games and I've gone stretches scoring and feeling good for a long period of time, so it's just about finding what you do right and just keep going with it. I just want to be consistent and consistently help the team win, and right now the puck's going in, but I want to be helpful defensively, helpful offensively without the puck, with the puck, everything."
Andrew Copp scored on the power play to tie the game 2-2 at 2:07 of the third period. Copp got positioning in the slot to redirect Connor's pass in.

Kempe scored his first goal of the season to give the Kings a 2-1 lead at 1:41 of the second on a wrist shot from the slot.
Dubois scored on a wraparound to put the Jets up 1-0 at 4:07 of the first period.
Kupari tied it 1-1 at 11:23, getting behind two Jets for a breakaway to score his first goal of the season.
"That's my personal belief is when we pass well, we're a good team, and when we don't, we struggle to produce offense, which in turn makes us play defense a lot more," Kings forward Dustin Brown said.
The Kings played their first game since defenseman Sean Walker sustained a season-ending knee injury against the St. Louis Blues on Monday. Defenseman Drew Doughty is expected to be out eight weeks after injuring his knee against the Dallas Stars on Oct. 22.
"They gave us what they had," McLellan said of the Kings defensemen. "They defended fairly well. There's just a few moments in the game where it gets away from you. The penalty kill goal, we just spent a whole practice walking through different scenarios and different situations and how we need to be positioned, and we didn't execute."
NOTES: Jets defenseman Neal Pionk had two assists and has five in his past three games. … Connor's five-game assist streak is the longest of his career. … Brown played his 1,239th NHL game, passing Doug Weight (1,238) for 11th all-time among American-born players.
