7 p.m. ET; SNV, FS-CR, NHL.TV

The Game

The Carolina Hurricanes will look to extend their best start to a regular season since relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1997 when they play the Vancouver Canucks at PNC Arena on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes have earned points in three straight games to start a season for the fourth time in franchise history and first since 2000-01 (1-0-2). The Hartford Whalers started 4-0-0 in 1995-96.
Canucks center Elias Pettersson can become the third player in NHL history to have multiple points in his first three NHL games, joining Harvey Fraser of the Chicago Blackhawks (Nov. 1-9, 1944) and Alexandre Daigle of the Ottawa Senators (Oct. 6-14, 1993).

Players to watch

Pettersson is the seventh rookie since 1990-91 with five points through his first two NHL games. The others are Jesper Bratt (2017-18), Vladimir Tarasenko (2012-13), Anze Kopitar (2006-07), Brent Seabrook (2005-06), Radim Vrbata (2001-02) and Daigle (1993-94).
Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho has a three-game point streak (one goal, three assists).

They said it

"We're trying to push forward and make our team better. We need some defensemen to take some steps. This is part of the process." -- Canucks coach Travis Green
"(For Pettersson) to be this good this early is probably surprising. He just looks right at home. The confidence with the puck is what's incredible with him. We're going to have to key on that guy." -- Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour
