Situation Room: No Goal Philadelphia

Type of Review: Puck Over Goal Line and High-Sticking the Puck

Result: No Goal Philadelphia
Explanation: At 17:20 elapsed time, the Situation Room informed the off-ice officials to sound the in-arena horn after it was confirmed that the puck entered the Tampa Bay net at 16:50 (3:10 on the clock). This was done in accordance with Rule 37.6.
Upon further review, it was determined that Scott Laughton's stick was above the height of the crossbar when he directed the puck into the net. According to Rule 80.3, "When an attacking player causes the puck to enter the opponent's goal by contacting the puck above the height of the crossbar, either directly or deflected off any player or official, the goal shall not be allowed. The determining factor is where the puck makes contact with the stick. If the puck makes contact with the stick at or below the level of the crossbar and enters the goal, this goal shall be allowed."
Therefore, no goal Philadelphia and the clock is reset to show 3:10 (16:50 elapsed time) - when the puck originally crossed the goal line.
