With Parise and Pominville out because of an illness, White played on the top line with Nino Niederreiter and Eric Staal. He received 9:58 of ice time.
"I had to take a double check for sure [if I was really on the top line]. I haven't seen that too many times in my career," White said with a laugh. "I was definitely excited. It gave me a little kick in the [butt] to get myself going. It was special playing with those two guys tonight. It was nice to get rewarded with them."
Staal said White's energy and tenacity made him a great linemate.
"He was pumped, had a lot of energy," Staal said. "For just joining us, I thought he played a strong game and stuck to his game, which is getting to the net and being strong on the forecheck. It was fun and he's going to be a good addition to this group."
White, 28, had 13 points (seven goals, six assists) and 70 penalty minutes in 46 games for Arizona this season. A third-round pick (No. 66) by the Montreal Canadiens in 2006, he has 29 goals and 29 assists in 294 regular-season games in eight seasons with the Coyotes, Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers.
Hanzal, wearing No. 19 in honor of his daughter's birthday, not necessarily a nod to former teammate Shane Doan, also played his first game with the Wild. He had two shots and five hits in 16:43.
