SAINT PAUL --Josh Archibald scored his first two goals of the season within a 5:32 span of the third period to lead the Coyotes to a come-from-behind, 4-3 victory over Minnesota at Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday night.
Arizona, which trailed 3-1 after two periods, played the final 20 minutes without starting goalie Antti Raanta, who suffered a lower-body injury and did not return after the second intermission. Adin Hill stopped all five shots he faced in the final stanza in relief of Raanta.

"I like the resiliency," Head Coach Rick Tocchet said. "A couple guys were struggling early and we kind of regained ourselves in the third, so that's nice ... You got to win these games. When you're down 3-1 going into the third period, hopefully in an 82-game schedule you're going to win some of those."

Tocchet: 'Like the Resiliency'

Archibald, who was a healthy scratch the past two games after serving a two-game NHL suspension, triggered the rally when he scored his first goal of the season with a wrist shot from between the circles at 3:07 of the third period to pull Arizona to within 3-2. Lawson Crouse set up the goal with a nifty back-handed pass.
Michael Grabner tied the score, 3-3, just over four minutes later when he beat Wild goalie Devin Dubnyk with a shot from in close.
Archibald punctuated the rally at 8:39 of the third when he scored a breakaway goal on Dubnyk after securing a lengthy stretch pass from Alex Goligoski launched from behind the Coyotes net.

ARI@MIN: Archibald roofs shot to put Coyotes ahead

"(Goligoski) saw me coming right off the bench and made a great pass," Archibald said. "I saw that (Dubnyk) was coming out to poke check and snap the pads on me. The puck rolled on me a little bit, kind of helped me in a way, and I was just able to chip it over him and in the net."
• Arizona won the game despite taking only 14 shots on goal, including just one in the second period. It's just the sixth time in team history, and the first since Dec. 23, 2005, that the Coyotes won a game with 14 shots on goal or fewer.
"We didn't have a ton of chances, but we buried the ones we had," Goligoski said. "It's a tough building to come in. If you come out of here with two points, no matter how you get them, you're happy."
• Raanta, who was playing just his third game since missing three weeks because of a lower-body injury, stopped 17 of the 20 shots he faced.
Tocchet didn't have an update on the severity of Raanta's injury immediately after the game.
"I haven't heard," Tocchet said. "I guess he'll go to the doctors again tomorrow and check it out."

• Crouse gave Arizona a 1-0 lead at 4:49 of the first period when he scored his fourth goal of the season off a face-off win by Nick Cousins and a nifty tap pass by Archibald. The trio impressed Tocchet all night.
"The first two periods, you guys saw it, it wasn't good," Tocchet told reporters. "We were slapping the puck around. … We started to buckle down in the third, short shifts, made some plays. Obviously, (Archibald, Crouse and Cousins) I thought were fabulous tonight for us, even when we weren't playing well. The first two (periods), they were our best line. And then we got some momentum and played the right way."

Archibald on 3-Point Night

• With two goals and an assist, Archibald, who entered the game with just 14 NHL points, notched the first three-point game of his career.
"It's been a slow start," Archibald said regarding his season. "Injuries, suspension. To just be able to get in and put up some points offensively for the team, help us out, get a win, it's a huge confidence booster. Hopefully, we can keep this thing rolling forward."

• The Coyotes entered the game with an 0-10-1 record when trailing after two periods.
"The overall mood was good," Goligoski said of the vibe inside Arizona's dressing room during the second intermission. "No one was really going crazy, banging sticks or anything. It was just like, 'Alright, that one's over. Let's get one here early and see what happens.'"
• Playing left wing on a line with center Alex Galchenyuk and right wing Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz skated 18:38 and took three shots on goal in his first game with the Coyotes since coming to the team via a trade with Chicago on Sunday.

• Hill, who's played just six NHL games, earned the victory, his second in the League.
"It was unbelievable actually how the team rallied together there," Hill said. "We played with some desperation and found a way to put the puck in the net and get the job done tonight."

Hill: 'We Found a Way'
