ABOUT THE 'YOTES:
• Arizona will enter the game with 67 points, one behind Minnesota for the second wildcard spot in the Western Conference standings, with 18 games to play.
• The Coyotes have won five games in a row twice this season. The last time the team strung six wins together was in February of the 2011-12 season.
Darcy Kuemper is expected to start in goal looking to extend his winning streak to seven games. He stopped 182 of 192 shots in consecutive victories over Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Florida and Vancouver (a .948 save percentage).
• Arizona will play minus Derek Stepan, who suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's game vs. Vancouver. Stepan, an alternate captain, ranks third on the team with 13 goals, fourth with 32 points and is a key defender/penalty killer. Look for Christian Dvorak to replace him on a line with wingers Lawson Crouse and Josh Archibald.

Alex Galchenyuk, who is averaging a point per game over his past 10 games (six goals, four assists), has notched more points vs. Detroit (18) than he has against any other NHL team, except Buffalo (also 18).
The Coyotes on Friday recalled forward Hudson Fasching from the Tucson Roadrunners, their top affiliate in the American Hockey League. Fasching, who has 22 games on his NHL resume, all with Buffalo, notched 12 goals and 13 assists in 48 games with Tucson this season. He'll wear sweater No. 24.

The Red Wings haven't played since Tuesday when they lost to Montreal, 8-1, on home ice ... Detroit is struggling on special teams; it ranks 25th in the League in both power-play percentage (16.1) and penalty-killing percentage (77.5) ... Dylan Larkin leads the team in ice time per game (21:54), goals (26), assists (35) and points (61). He also ranks first with 243 shots on goal, seventh most in the NHL ... Anthony Mantha has notched seven points (two goals, five assists) during a four-game point streak ... Jimmy Howard is 12-4-3 with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage vs. the Coyotes in 19 career games.
'YOTES QUOTES:
• "They've got high-end talent. They're fast. They're at a point where people want to impress people. We were like that last year (at this time). So, it's a dangerous game. I don't care who we play, we can't take anybody for granted." -- Rick Tocchet
• "Every game is so important right now for us. Hopefully we can just keep playing the way that we are. I mean, we know why we're being successful, and that's hard work and sticking to the system that we're playing. That's what we're going to have to do (vs. Detroit)." -- Oliver Ekman-Larsson
• "Things haven't been going great for Detroit, but we know that they're still a tough team and they play with speed, so we've got to be ready to go. We owe them from a game earlier this year in their building. We learned a lot from that game and are better because of it." -- Darcy Kuemper
