Artemi Panarin had two goals and two assists, Cam Atkinson had one goal and three assists and Zach Werenski had four assists for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 7-6 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Nationwide Arena on Friday.

Oliver Bjorkstrand broke a 6-6 tie at 16:04 of the third period.
Each team scored three times in the first period. Panarin (31 seconds, 5:35) gave the Blue Jackets a 2-0 lead, but Sidney Crosby (6:05) and Carl Hagelin (6:40) scored 35 seconds apart to tied it 2-2. It was Crosby's first goal of the preseason.
Boone Jenner gave the Blue Jackets a 3-2 lead at 12:11 before Derick Brassard tied it 3-3 at 17:27.
Brassard gave Pittsburgh a 4-3 lead with a shorthanded goal 2:04 into the second period, and Patric Hornqvist made it 5-3 on the power play at 4:38.
Atkinson pulled the Blue Jackets within 5-4 at 7:13 and Nick Foligno tied it 5-5 on the power play at 10:06.
Bryan Rust gave the Penguins a 6-5 lead at 2:13 of the third before Dean Kukan tied it 6-6 at 10:25.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves for Columbus. Tristan Jarry started for Pittsburgh and made 15 saves on 20 shots in 30:06. Casey DeSmith made 15 saves.
