Welcome to the NHL Status Report. Here is the latest lineup/injury news around the NHL.

Ottawa Senators

Jake Sanderson reaggravated an undisclosed injury and left at 12:45 of the first period of the Senators’ 3-2 win at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. The defenseman, who did not return to the game, missed part of training camp with the injury. "A little bit concerned,” coach Travis Green said after the game. “We will know more in the next few days. I think Sanderson was smart enough to pull himself early enough that he didn't reaggravate it too badly, he just felt it was coming and took himself out, and that was a smart thing to do." Sanderson left a preseason game on Sept. 26 for precautionary reasons and had been held out of practice before returning Friday. Ottawa visits the Boston Bruins on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; NESN, SN+, TVAS) and the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. ... Defenseman Artem Zub (knee) and forward Andre Burakovsky (upper body) skated in noncontact jerseys Friday and did not play Saturday.

Florida Panthers

Gustav Forsling (upper body) will be a game-time decision for the Panthers at the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; Prime Video, SCRIPPS, KCOP-13, TVAS). The defenseman was a late scratch in a 4-3 overtime loss at the San Jose Sharks on Thursday after he scored a goal and played 22:40 in Florida’s season opener, a 1-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sept. 29. The Panthers recalled forward Sam Lafferty and defenseman Alexander Petrovic from Charlotte of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Chicago Blackhawks

Bowen Byram missed the Blackhawks’ 4-3 loss at the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday because of a family matter. The defenseman, who was acquired by Chicago in a trade with Buffalo on June 23, signed a six-year, $75 million contract July 1 that begins next season. Byram had a career-high 42 points in 82 games last season (11 goals, 31 assists). The Blackhawks host the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Seattle Kraken

Jacob Melanson (upper body) was placed on injured reserve and will not play against the Calgary Flames on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; Prime Video, KONG, SNW). The forward, who played 9:31 in a 6-2 win at Calgary on Thursday, is week to week.

Washington Capitals

Matt Roy (lower body) is questionable to play against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday after the Capitals defenseman was injured during a 3-1 loss at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. Roy left the game at 14:56 of the second period and did not return. Coach Spencer Carbery said Roy would be evaluated when the team arrived back in Washington.
