short shifts AHL hershey

Wait a second. Those aren't cleats.

The Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League are hosting the 2018 Outdoor Classic at Hersheypark Stadium, a venue routinely used for football and soccer. So the team decided to get out there and test the turf before it's covered with ice.
Bears players Chris Bourque, Garrett Mitchell and Zach Sill were out throwing the old pigskin around during a promo for the upcoming event, which has the Bears hosting the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Jan. 20.

The event, sponsored by Capital Blue Cross of Central Pennsylvania, has already produced some pretty great photos from the field.

Of course, playing football isn't the only thing the Bears can do on skates. Mitchell even pushed a stroller along the field.

Now that they have the lay of the land, they can get set for the big outdoor game. All they need is the ice.
