The Florida Panthers will be without their top scorer, Jonathan Marchessault, against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre because of a lower-body injury. He leads the Panthers with 10 goals and 20 points, including an assist in a 5-1 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. Prior to that, he had missed Florida's previous four games, also with a lower-body injury. Goaltender Roberto Luongo will start and can tie Terry Sawchuk (447) for fifth on the NHL all-time victory list with a win. Forward Jaromir Jagr (1,883) is four points behind Mark Messier (1,887) for second place on the all-time scoring list. Coach Tom Rowe said neither milestone is playing on the minds of his players. "That's what is impressive about Roberto and Jaromir; they come to the rink every day prepared mentally and physically and that's why they're going to reach those milestones," said Rowe, whose team is 1-3-2 in its past six games. "I don't think it plays on them. It doesn't play on the team whatsoever. It's fun to be a part of it and it's fun to watch." The Panthers are 2-4-3 in their past nine games and have lost four straight on the road (0-2-2). "Especially the starts of the game, they are pretty crucial for us," center Aleksander Barkov said. "If we are losing 2-0 or 3-0, I think it's pretty impossible in this League to come back from [that]. We need to concentrate on our start and score our goals first."
