Sam Anas scored 1:43 into overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 2-1 win against the Dallas Stars at Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Monday.
It was the preseason opener for Dallas. Pavel Buchnevich had a goal and an assist in his Blues debut after being acquired in a trade with the New York Rangers on July 23. He did not play in a 6-2 win against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Scott Perunovich had two assists for St. Louis. Riley Tufte gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 18:00 of the first period. Buchnevich tied it 1-1 on the power play with 59 seconds left in the second. Braden Holtby made 15 saves on 16 shots in his Stars debut after signing a one-year contract as a free agent July 28. Jake Oettinger took over to start the third period and made 12 saves on 13 shots. Jordan Binnington made 12 saves on 13 shots in the first period for the Blues before being relieved by Joel Hofer, who made 11 saves in relief for the win.
