Seguin scores two in Stars Game 4 win over Wild, 3-2

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Tyler Seguin scored twice on the power play for the Dallas Stars in a 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild in Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round at Xcel Energy Center on Sunday.

The best-of-7 series is tied 2-2. Game 5 will be in Dallas on Tuesday.
"We needed 'Seggy' to fill in," Dallas coach Peter DeBoer said. "That's a big hole with Stars forward Joe Pavelski] out … I think [Roope Hintz]*
John Klingberg had a goal and an assist, and Frederick Gaudreau also scored for the Wild, who are the No. 3 seed from the Central. Filip Gustavsson made 21 saves.
"We take this game, throw it in the garbage bin, and then we look at the video tomorrow before we travel to Dallas," Gustavsson said. "We've been there. We've beat them in their own arena, and we know what it's going to take."
Seguin put Dallas ahead 1-0 at 15:42 of the second period with his first power-play goal. Hintz's redirection of Jason Robertson's shot from the top of the right circle was saved by Gustavsson, but the rebound hit off of Seguin's skate and deflected five-hole on the goalie.

Dadonov made it 2-0 at 3:05 of the third period, scoring glove side from the high slot after he exited the penalty box.
"Just tried to hide it as much as possible, just use the bodies as a screen, just get a puck through," Dadonov said.
Klingberg cut it to 2-1 at 5:58 with a quick shot from the top of the right circle.
"I think we had our looks," Klingberg said. "Obviously, at 5-on-5 we had a few breakaways, 2-on-1s, but I think [the power play] didn't really click today. We were a little scrambly on the outside and in gaining entrance that easy, so that's something we'll look at and see if we can do a better job next game."
Seguin pushed it 3-1 at 16:29, scoring his second power-play goal from the low slot off a pass from Jamie Benn.
"Obviously, we capitalized when we needed to, and we're happy with a couple tonight," Seguin said.

Gaudreau cut it to 3-2 at 18:40, scoring a power-play goal into an open net after the rebound of Matt Boldy's shot caromed to him off the post.
"Our game was really good," Minnesota coach Dean Evason said. "If anything, we should've scored, could've scored earlier. We had lots of good chances, so we liked the way that we were playing the game. Hard, physical, finishing our checks the right way, how playoff hockey should be played. It should be physical, it should be intense, it should be hitting hard. That's what playoff hockey is. We were doing that."
NOTES: Seguin is the fourth player in the Stars' team history to score multiple power-play goals in a playoff game, joining Alexander Radulov (2020), Brenden Morrow (2008) and Pat Verbeek (1998). … Minnesota has never held a 3-1 series lead in its history.
