Forward Max Domi, who leads the Coyotes with 13 points, notched seven points (five goals and two assists) in five games vs. Edmonton last season. Friday's game will be his 100th in the NHL.
Rookie defenseman Tony DeAngelo will be looking to extend his point streak to four games.
"In the game today, if you can't move the puck you're going to be behind," Tippett said. "He's come in and done a nice job for us in that area."
DeAngelo's partner, Alex Goligoski, has notched an assist in two straight games and ranks second on the team with eight helpers.
Captain Shane Doan enters the game needing just one assist to move into sole possession of first place on the franchise's all-time assists list. He and Thomas Steen are tied with 553 each.
Edmonton (12-8-1) is the surprise team of the NHL this season and leads the Pacific Division with 25 points.
Captain Connor McDavid, who leads the NHL with 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists), has notched eight points (four goals, four assists) in Edmonton's past three games - all wins.
"McDavid is really the player that drives that team," Tippett said. "He's a very good player. He plays the game at a very high pace and his hands keep up with him at that pace."
Goalie Cam Talbot ranks tied for second in the NHL with 11 wins, and first in minutes played (1,126:48) and saves (534).
Forward Leon Draisaitl is riding a five-game point streak with four goals and four assists during that span. His five power-play goals rank tied for third most in the League.
Rookie Jesse Puljujarvi, whom the Oilers selected fourth overall at this year's NHL Draft, has notched six points (one goal, five assists) in 17 games. He scored his lone goal in the season opener vs. Calgary on Oct. 12.
"In the past, this team has cleaned our clock," Head Coach Todd McLellan said of the Coyotes. "We haven't played well against them, we haven't found any type of success, in large part to us beating ourselves. Arizona never beats itself, the other team has to take the game from them and we've done a poor job of that."
