Bruins team scope

Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid is expected to return to the lineup against the Nashville Predators. McQuaid collided with St. Louis Blues forward Patrik Berglund in the first period of a 5-3 win Tuesday and was kept in the hospital after the game for precautionary reasons. Coach Claude Julien said he expects McQuaid to play. "He says he is [good to go]," Julien said. "As long as everything is OK by game time, he'll be in. We'll dress seven [defensemen] to make sure we're ready for any situation." McQuaid said he's been medically cleared to play. "Obviously I think everyone is aware I stayed overnight," McQuaid said. "Everything checked out, and I'm feeling good. Good to go." Defenseman Colin Miller sustained a lower-body injury against the Blues and will not play. Forward David Krejci is one point from 500 in his NHL career.

Predators team scope

Defenseman P.K. Subban took part in the morning skate, the first time he's been on the ice with his teammates since Dec. 15. Subban has missed 12 games with an upper-body injury; Nashville placed him on injured reserve on Jan. 1 and said he was expected to be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks. "It's good to see him there," coach Peter Laviolette said. "Any time somebody's been off the ice for a while, [Subban] or [Predators forward James Neal], whoever, it's always positive when they start mixing back in with the group." Nashville's 2-1 overtime win against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday ended a six-game home losing streak and was its first in five games decided in the extra five-minute period. Forward Craig Smith will play in his 400th NHL game. Captain Mike Fisher is one assist from 300 for his career.
