Philipp Grubauer close up mask Nashville Predators 2018 November 7

To complete its second consecutive back-to-back set and its fourth game in six days, the Colorado Avalanche is expected to turn to Philipp Grubauer in net tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Avalanche returns to Pepsi Center after the team defeated the Nashville Predators 3-2 on Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena behind a 36-save performance from goaltender Semyon Varlamov.

Tonight's game is the first of two meetings between the Avs and the Penguins, and they will wrap up the season series on Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Colorado won both matchups last year, sweeping a season series of at least two games from the Pens for the first time since 2002-03.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup based on the team's forward combinations and defensive pairings from Tuesday's game in Nashville. They are subject to change.
