The forward was injured during warmups for the preseason game against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday. The 33-year-old is expected to be sidelined until late February.
Perry was third on Anaheim last season with 49 points (17 goals, 32 assists) in 71 games. He's second in Ducks history in goals (366) and games played (957), behind Teemu Selanne (457 goals, 966 games), and third in assists (400) and points (766).
Selected by the Ducks in the first round (No. 28) of the 2003 NHL Draft, Perry has scored at least 30 goals six times in 13 seasons, including an League-leading 50 in 2010-11, his NHL career high. He won the Hart Trophy voted as the NHL's most valuable player that season.
Anaheim opens the regular season against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Oct. 3 (10:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN). In addition to Perry, the Ducks are expected to be without forwards Ryan Kesler (hip) and Patrick Eaves (shoulder) for opening night. Forward Nick Ritchie remains an unsigned restricted free agent.
