Governors Flyers Canes

Two different teams, two different states, one same first name.

The governors of North Carolina and Pennsylvania have made a friendly wager on the outcome of the Eastern Conference Second Round series between the Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers.

Gov. Josh Stein of North Carolina threw down the gauntlet first via social media, throwing out a loser wears the winner's jersey bet.

Gov. Josh Shapiro took that bet and raised the stakes a bit, with a Gritty cake now in the mix (but beware, the big orange furball likes to throw them).

The Flyers-Hurricanes series begins Saturday (8 p.m. ET; ABC, SN, TSN) at Lenovo Center in Raleigh. By the end of it, one of these politicians will be wearing some uncomfortable threads.
