50/50 Raffle Winner Donates Back Half of Winnings

On Tuesday, October 25, Jason V. was the lucky winner of the Sharks Foundation's 50/50 Raffle, which reached a total jackpot of $13,025.
As the winner, Jason is entitled to half of the jackpot - a total of $6,512.50, while the other 50-percent of the jackpot will be donated to the Sharks Foundation's selected beneficiary for the evening, the Dream Foundation. However, inspired by the mission of the Dream Foundation, Jason chose to donate half of his total winnings, $3,256.25, to support their work.
Because of Jason's donation, the Dream Foundation will be able to dedicate more than $9,700 to serve terminally ill adults and families by providing end-of-life Dreams that offer inspiration, comfort and closure.

The Sharks Foundation launched its 50/50 Raffle during the 2016-17 preseason and will continue the raffle at every home game this season. Since the launch, it has raised nearly $28,000 for non-profit partners in the Bay Area. The Foundation estimates it will donate $220,000 through its 50/50 Raffle during the 2016-17 season.
