The New York Islanders suffered a 6-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night at KeyBank Center. The loss was the Islanders' third straight and finished their four-game road trip with a 1-3-0 record.
Kyle Palmieri (2G) and Anders Lee scored for the Islanders, while Victor Olofsson (2G), Kyle Okposo, Alex Tuch, Henri Jokijarju and Tage Thompson scored for Buffalo.
Ilya Sorokin made 35 saves on 39 shots in the loss.
Dustin Tokarski made 30 saves on 33 shots in the Sabres' win.

THE SCORING:
First Period:
10:53 - BUF 1, NYI 0 -From the doorstep, former Islander Kyle Okposo buried a pass from Casey Fitzgerald to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead. Cody Eakin also picked up an assist.
12:06 - NYI 1, BUF 1 -The Islanders responded as Anthony Beauvillier jetted up ice and zipped his pass across the slot for Kyle Palmieri to put in on the fly and tie the score 1-1. Sebastian Aho also collected an assist.
Second Period:
1:36 - BUF 2, NYI 1, SHG -Tage Thompson buried a shorthanded goal off a rebound that was initially kicked out by Ilya Sorokin on the backdoor to give Buffalo a 2-1 lead. Dylan Cozens tallied the assist.
7:11 - NYI 2, BUF 2 - Anders Lee puts in a feed that traveled through traffic to find him on the goal line. Zdeno Chara and Mathew Barzal registered assists.
19:59 - BUF 3, NYI 2, PPG -With 1.1 seconds on the clock, Alex Tuch tipped in a shot on the power play from Peyton Krebs to restore the lead to the Sabres. Rasmus Dahlin also earned an assist.
Third Period:
9:56 - NYI 3, BUF 3 - From the goal line, Kyle Palmieri shot a sharp-angle shot over Dustin Tokarski for his second goal of the game and to tie the game 3-3 for the Islanders. Anders Lee and Noah Dobson posted assists.
17:05 - BUF 4, NYI 3 -Victor Olofsson scored the go-ahead goal for the Sabres late in the third period. Peyton Krebs and Dylan Cozens gathered the assists.
18:55 - BUF 5, NYI 3, ENG - With Ilya Sorokin pulled in exchange for the extra skater, Henri Jokiharju scored on the open net. Alex Tuch earned the assist.
19:34 BUF 6, NYI 3, ENG -Victor Olofsson scored his second of the game on the empty net.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders were 0-for-2 on the power play and gave up one shorthanded goal. They were 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.

Ilya Sorokin made his 30th start of the season while his record dropped to 14-11-5… Kyle Palmieri returned to the lineup and scored his second and third goals of the season… Anders Lee scored his 13th goal of the season...
