The New York Islanders picked up a point in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night in the first half of their back-to-back set at Wells Fargo Center, but have still gone without a win for their last four games.
Trailing 2-0 after Jakub Voracek and Kevin Hayes got the Flyers on the board in the first period, Jordan Eberle and Scott Mayfield evened the score in the second period. Following a scoreless third period, Scott Laughton delivered the overtime winner for the Flyers at 3:16.

Semyon Varlamov made 14 saves for the Islanders while Carter Hart backstopped Philadelphia to the win with his 26-save performance.
While the Islanders felt that they could have come away with a win - after a rocky first period that was followed up with a dominant final 40 minutes of regulation - they were appreciative to have earned the single point, especially on a night where every game in the East Division went to overtime. The Islanders felt that their performance laid a foundation to build off of moving forward with Sunday's game and the last game of their five-game road trip.
"You look at the way we finished the game, the second [period] third [period] and overtime, it's something to build on," Eberle said. "That being said, it's a short season and every point counts. It obviously sucks to lose that extra point, so we have to move forward."
