CANES HEAD TO CALIFORNIA
10:15 a.m.
The Carolina Hurricanes will begin a three-game trek through California in Anaheim, as they look to snap a five-game road winless streak.
Heading out west, the Hurricanes are hoping to replicate their recent success at home, where they've won six straight, their longest such home winning streak since 2010.
"We've been doing a lot of good things at home," defenseman Justin Faulk said. "You want to make it a hard place to come into."
Tonight marks the Canes' lone appearance in Anaheim this season. They'll face a Ducks team that is returning from a three-game road trip of its own. Most recently, the Ducks were pummeled 8-3 in Calgary on Sunday. At 12-9-5 with 29 points, the Ducks occupy the first wild card spot in the Western Conference.
Cam Ward will start in net tonight for the Hurricanes. Elias Lindholm (lower body) is on the trip, but his status for tonight is yet undetermined.
CANESPR NOTES: In last year's two-game season series between these two teams, the road club won either game. … The Hurricanes 93 percent road penalty kill percentage is a league-best mark.
