GEOFF WARD ON HOW THE GAME TURNED:

ON SERIES WITH CANUCKS:

"Inconsistent. I think it's probably the best way. But we've been talking about that for a while now. It's time to put this to bed, take charge and take control of what we can. We certainly can control the way we start; we certainly can control how we pay attention to details, how hard we compete, how much we care. All those things are certainly within our control. It's time for us to start giving a (expletive) about it."

"It's concerning, there's no question"

ON SLOW STARTS:

"It's concerning, there's no question. There's no excuse not to be ready to play a hockey game. Really. This is the National Hockey League; the best players in the world. They know how to prepare to play. We've got to solve it, for sure. These guys have played enough hockey to understand what they need to do to get themselves ready to play. ... We've got to start getting there as a team. We've got to do a much, much better job as a team getting ready to play. There's no excuse for it."

BRETT RITCHIE ON HIS FIRST GAME:

"Obviously, it's been a while and you never know exactly how that's going to feel. But I had a game plan and wanted to keep it simple early. I had an opportunity to play with (Gaudreau and Monahan) and I've played with some skilled guys before, so you want to get the puck to those guys, head to the net and cause some chaos. Sometimes, you can get a bounce. We had some looks, along with some other lines tonight. Could have changed the tide a little bit, but we just couldn't bury them. It was one of those nights."

JACOB MARKSTROM ON HIS NIGHT:

"Not happy. I've got to be better and that's it."

ON COLLISION WITH TANNER PEARSON:

"I had no business going out on either one of them and on one, I got lucky and it hit my pad. On the other, they scored. You want to help the team win and stop pucks, not give goals away. It's frustrating when you're helping the other team instead of helping your own team."

"Not happy. I've got to be better and that's it"

MARK GIORDANO ON LATE IN THE SECOND PERIOD:

"Pretty frustrating game. I thought, again, we didn't have the start that we wanted. The first five minutes, I didn't think we were sharp. When we got the game to 2-1 in the second, I really thought if we could get through the period at that score or better, we were going to have a good night. But they got it back on the very next shift and then got another one. It's pretty tough to swallow those ones at the end there."
