After a lengthy wait, Matt Coronato and the USA are ready to get the IIHF World Junior Championship underway.
The tournament, which started back in December of 2021 and was postponed due to COVID, officially kicks off on Tuesday, Aug. 9 in Edmonton.
Coronato, the Flames' first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, was on the USA's original roster and remains with the team for the new schedule. He scored a goal in Sunday's pre-tournament game vs. Switzerland, a 6-1 win for the USA.
The tournament will mark Coronato's second trip to Alberta this summer, coming a little under a month after he attended his first development camp in Calgary.
