ALUMNI Q&A - ROBYN REGEHR

Q: What was your favourite memory while playing for the Flames?
A: There are a few favourite memories of playing with the Flames. The first is playing my first game on the road in Ottawa. Next was scoring my first NHL goal at home against Mike Vernon with my parents in the Saddledome, and third was playing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in 2004.

Q: Who was your favourite teammate and why?
A: Probably Rhett Warrener because he always understood what it took to make our team go. If it was something to be said during the game or intermission, or a prank or team party to be planned or hosted - a teammate to be quietly talked to or supported - he always seemed to understand and care what needed to be done to make the team and guys perform.
Q: Where did you settle down when you retired from hockey?
A: Our family moved back to Calgary in June of 2015. Nothing like driving a 26 foot U-Haul truck loaded with your stuff from L.A. to Calgary in two days.

Q: What did you do after you hung up your skates?
A: When I was still playing hockey (2008), I started an energy services business with a couple friends called
Blueline
. I also am an active member of the Flames alumni. And last, but not least, I'm a father and husband.
Q: What are your interests and passions outside the game?
A: I love to stay active and enjoy being with our two boys swimming, hiking and biking. Personally, I like to ride snowmobiles in the mountains and also slalom waterski in the summer. I enjoy a crib or rummy game as well.
Q: Tell us a bit about your family.
A: My family consists of my wife Kristina and two boys, Wyatt and Shane. Both Kristina and I have most of our families in Saskatchewan and enjoy spending time with them as well.
