John Gibson made a season-high 44 saves and Troy Terry netted the game-winning goal as Anaheim's All-Star duo led the Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators today at Canadian Tire Centre. The win pushed Anaheim's point streak to five games (4-0-1) as the club has earned seven of eight possible standings points heading to the finale of a five-game eastern road trip.

Gibson turned in the latest in a season full of masterful performances, stopping 44-of-45 shots for his 163nd career win, and passing Jonas Hiller for third in Ducks history.

Terry netted the deciding goal midway through the third period, matching Leon Draisaitl for the most-game winning goals in the NHL (seven). The first-time All-Star is tied with Auston Matthews for fifth among league leaders in goals (25) and tied for third in even-strength goals (18).
Rickard Rakell also scored for Anaheim, his 147th career goal (all as a Duck), tying Bobby Ryan for sixth in franchise history.
With the win, Anaheim now leads the Pacific Division with 54 points (23-16-8) and sits third in point percentage (.574).
The Ducks opened the scoring for the fifth straight game, taking an early lead when Rakell circled the net and beat Ottawa netminder Anton Forsberg with a shot along the ice from a sharp angle.

Sam Steel collected the secondary assist and now has points in three straight games (1-3=4).
Anaheim has scored the game's first goal 29 times this season, second-most in the NHL (Washington, 30).
The Senators answered less than two minutes later on a terrific play by forward Tyler Ennis, who batted down a breakout pass at center ice, spun away from a Ducks defender and ripped a shot over Gibson's glove.
Defenseman Josh Manson, making his second appearance since returning from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol, left the game in the first period following a hit by Senators forward Brady Tkachuk and did not return with an upper-body injury.
Ottawa controlled much of the second period, peppering Gibson throughout the 20-minute stanza and applying pressure deep in the Ducks defensive zone, but Anaheim's All-Star netminder kept his team in the game much as he has all season long.
The Senators outshot the Ducks 18-4 in the scoreless middle frame.
Ottawa's relentless offensive attack continued in the third, especially so on a power-play opportunity when Hampus Lindholm was whistled for hooking, but the Senators had no answer for Gibson even with the man advantage.
Moments after one Ducks All-Star kept the game tied, the other broke the deadlock on the opposite end of the ice. Terry took a pass from Getzlaf at center ice, dragging the puck towards his body and firing a wrist shot by Forsberg, clinching his first career 25-goal season.

That would be all the help Gibson would need as the unflappable netminder locked down the 2-1 win with 16 third-period saves.
Anaheim concludes its five-game road trip Monday in Detroit.
