GLENDALE -The Coyotes will begin a home-and-home series with Columbus on Saturday night when they host the Blue Jackets at Gila River Arena. The puck drops at 6 p.m. Arizona time.
Arizona (8-11-3) has played the second-most one-goal games in the NHL this season, and has posted a 7-6-3 record in those 16 games. Only Chicago (17) has played more one-goal games.

The Coyotes have killed 24 of their opponents' past 26 power-play opportunities, and they rank second in the NHL at penalty killing on home ice at 93.8 percent.
"You definitely build momentum off a good penalty kill," forward Jordan Martinook said. "We've been really good as of late, everybody has been skating and reading off each other."
Mike Smith will start in goal looking to earn his fifth win of the season. He will enter the game with a 4-2-2 mark and a 2.74 goals-against average.
Radim Vrbata will bring a four-game point streak (one goal, three assists) into the game, his second such streak of the season.
Center Martin Hanzal has produced 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 22 career games vs. Columbus.
Arizona on Friday recalled center Tyler Gaudet from the American Hockey League to give the team 13 forwards instead of just 12.
Defenseman Kevin Connauton played 81 games for the Blue Jackets before being claimed off waivers by Arizona last season. Connauton has played just seven games this season as the Coyotes have kept eight defensemen on the roster.
The Coyotes will travel to Columbus on Sunday and play a rematch with the Blue Jackets on Monday at Nationwide Arena.
Columbus (13-5-4) is off to its best start in franchise history and is the surprise team of the Eastern Conference with 30 points.
The Blue Jackets are the NHL's best power-play team at 25.9 percent, and they've outscored opponents by 20 goals, second only to the New York Rangers (28).
"They've got a lot of good young players that I don't think the league knows about yet," Coyotes Head Coach Dave Tippett said. "You're starting to see the fruits of their labor. John (Tortorella) has done a good job. They look like they're playing well."
Cam Atkinson leads the team with 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) and captain Nick Foligno is the top goal scorer with nine.
Backup Curtis McElhinney is expected to start in goal. He has stopped 74 of 80 shots faced in three games this season.
The Blue Jackets on Friday removed forward Matt Calvert from the injured-reserve list. He missed the past five games because of an upper body injury.
