Interim head coach Dominique Ducharme made one lineup change up front heading into the fourth matchup of the season against Calgary.
After watching the last four games as a healthy scratch, forward Artturi Lehkonen returned in place of centerman Jake Evans.

For his part, goaltender Carey Price was back between the pipes after Jake Allen started on Thursday.

The Flames struck first at the 5:38 mark of the first period.
Right-winger Joel Armia caused a turnover in the defensive zone that afforded centerman Sean Monahan a prime scoring opportunity in the slot, and he made no mistake with a perfect shot upstairs on Price.

Monahan scored again with 6:04 remaining in the frame, putting Calgary up 2-0 with a power play goal.
The veteran pivot jumped on a loose puck in the crease to light the lamp.

The Canadiens trailed by a pair after 20 minutes.
Price was very busy. He made 14 saves, including this one on a Johnny Gaudreau breakaway.

The Flames upped their lead to 3-0 at the 7:20 mark of the second stanza.
Left all alone in the slot, centerman Mikael Backlund buried a tape-to-tape feed from left-winger Andrew Mangiapane.

The Canadiens finally got on the scoreboard with 5:40 left in the period while the two teams were playing 4-on-4 hockey.
Defenseman Jeff Petry beat Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom with a top-corner snipe.

It was Petry's 11th goal of the year, matching his total from last year in 71 regular-season appearances.
Jonathan Drouin and Joel Edmundson collected the assists on the play.
It was also the Habs' first goal at 4-on-4 this season.
The Canadiens trailed 3-1 at the intermission, and were being outshot by a 28-16 margin as well.
No goals were scored in the third period.
Price finished the game with 33 saves.
The Canadiens will be back in action on Monday night when they battle the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place.
