MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on one-year, two-way contracts with defenseman Madison Bowey and forwards Anthony Richard and Mitchell Stephens.

Bowey played two games with the Vancouver Canucks this season in addition to skating in 53 games with Abbotsford in the AHL. The 27-year-old defenseman tallied 8 goals and 20 assists while serving 80 penalty minutes. Bowey dressed in 158 NHL career games with the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver, registering five goals and 35 assists.
Richard, a 25-year-old centerman, played 71 games in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch and Milwaukee Admirals this past season, notching 17 goals and 21 assists. The Trois-Rivieres, QC native dressed in two NHL career games with the Nashville Predators.
Stephens played 27 games with the Red Wings in 2021-22 where he recorded six assists and served eight penalty minutes. The Peterborough, ON native skated in 72 NHL career games with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit (3-10-13). Stephens was a second-round pick by the Lightning in 2015 (33rd overall).
