BROSSARD -- The Canadiens provided updates on the status of several players following Wednesday's practice at the Bell Sports Complex.

Forwards Paul Byron and Brendan Gallagher, who returned to practice sporting no-contact jerseys, are both in the final stages of their respective injury rehabs and nearing a return to play.
Forward Christian Dvorak was absent from practice because he was given a therapy day. He is day-to-day and being evaluated daily while he continues to follow the return-to-play protocol.
Forward Jonathan Drouin is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury. He is being evaluated by team medical staff.
Goaltender Carey Price continues to rehab his knee in the gym. He is making progress, but a date has not been set for his return to the ice.
Forwards Joel Armia and Cole Caufield continue to train in Madison, WI after entering the NHL's COVID-19 protocol. They cannot return to Canada before January 28.
