Lines and defense pairings at training camp – Sept. 20

BROSSARD – Fresh off a pair of wins against the Toronto Maple Leafs to open the preseason, the Canadiens were back on the ice as training camp resumed at the CN Sports Complex on Sunday.

Group A skated first, although Lucas Condotta and Alexandre Carrier did not take part. Dillan Bentley and Josh Nadeau skated in their place.

Next up was Group B, with Laurent Dauphin slotting in for Jake Evans, who also did not skate on Sunday.

Next up on Montreal’s preseason schedule is Monday’s Kraft Hockeyville game against the Ottawa Senators in Trois Rivieres, which is sure to be a special experience for Habs players hailing from the area.

Although head coach Martin St-Louis has not revealed his roster for the matchup, Samuel Montembeault knows it’ll be a meaningful game to be in if he’s given the nod.

“It would be fun, for sure. I have a house five minutes from the arena. When I’m in Trois Rivieres, I pass by there all the time. I’ve always gone to see Lions games there. It would be really fun,” said the Becancour native. “I’m sure my family and friends will come to see it. It’ll be really good for the community.

“It’s not just for Trois Rivieres, it’s for the whole province. You could say hockey is a bit of a religion here. A little event like this, in a little town where I come from, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Puck drop for Monday’s game against the Senators in Trois Rivieres is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
