MONTREAL – Game recognize game.

Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson arrived at the Bell Centre for morning skate on Saturday wearing a Lukas Van Ness jersey—exactly two weeks after the Packers defensive tackle showed up at Lambeau Field in a No. 48 Habs sweater.

Hutson was born in Holland, MI but grew up in the Chicago suburb of North Barrington, IL close to Barrington, IL native Van Ness, explaining his choice of attire as the Packers prepare to face the Chicago Bears in the NFL playoffs on Saturday.

In a social media post, Van Ness’s mother also indicated that the third-year Packers DT was previously coached on the ice by Hutson’s father.

It’s a busy day of Midwest connections for Hutson as the Canadiens prepare to take on the Detroit Red Wings at the Bell Centre on Saturday.
