Canadiens Capitals

The Canadiens are back in action for a second preseason game in as many nights on Tuesday at the Bell Centre, this time against the visiting Washington Capitals.

Michel Therrien's men will be looking to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday. Markus Eisenschmid and Zach Redmond were the goalscorers for the Habs in the defeat, while Mike Condon and Charlie Lindgren shared the work in goal. Condon stopped eight of the 10 shots he faced, while Lindgren allowed just one goal on 17 attempts on net.

Monday night's squad against the Devils will benefit from a night off against the Caps, meaning that plenty of new faces will be in the lineup on Tuesday, including Alexander Radulov, Andrew Shaw, and Al Montoya. Montoya for his part will get the start in goal while share netminding duties with Zach Fucale.
Nathan Beaulieu, Torrey Mitchell, Greg Pateryn, Phillip Danault, Paul Byron, Brian Flynn, and Stefan Matteau will also see ice time.
The Capitals likewise opened their preseason on Monday, dropping a 2-1 overtime decision to the Carolina Hurricanes. Alex Ovechkin won't suit up for the visitors in Montreal, but former Habs Christian Thomas and Darren Dietz will both be in uniform to face off against the Canadiens for the first time.
