Braceland is a 12-year-old seventh-grader attending The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT. She has been performing since the age of five with the Dan Kane Singers throughout Western Massachusetts. She has also performed the national anthem at Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park and TD Garden. She was born in Plano, TX and has lived in Westfield, MA since the age of one.
With the retirement of Garden legend, Rene Rancourt, at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season, the Boston Bruins held live auditions on August 8 to find a rotating group of singers who would perform the anthem at home games during the 2018-19 season. Out of more than 600 applications, 52 finalists were chosen to partake in the live auditions. Braceland is the 17th out of that group of finalists to be selected to perform this season, following Todd Angilly, Shanna Jackman, Dayna Fisk, Michelle Brooks-Thompson, Kara McEachern, Nick Page, Sarah Kostecki, Vanessa Salvucci, David Tyler, Kamryn Richard, Paige Vigneron, Nicole Talbot, Whitney Doucet, Oladunni Oladipo, Brenda Lau and Emma Joanis. Information on future new anthem performers will be announced prior to each Boston Bruins home game.
