Prospects Challenge Notebook: Bjork Settling In

BUFFALO - The Bruins prospects hit the ice on Sunday for a team practice at the HarborCenter before capping off the Prospects Challenge with a matinee on Monday against the New Jersey Devils prospects.
The puck drops at 12:00 p.m. ET at HarborCenter.
On Saturday night, forward Anders Bjork suited up in his first game of the Prospects Challenge against the Buffalo prospects. It marked first game action since playing for Team USA at the World Championship in May.

Though the game ended in a 7-4 loss for Bjork and his teammates, this weekend is about more than the scores.
"One of the main keys from that game was to stay calm, focused, and poised, no matter what happens," Bjork said of his takeaway. "It was a little bit of a messy game called with penalties, so it's easy to get heated or upset, but I think it was a good reminder for us to stay calm and play our game."
For Bjork, it was an adjustment from the college game to the more physical nature of the pro game.
Providence Bruins Head Coach Jay Leach, who is behind the bench leading the charge at the Prospects Challenge, said he commended Bjork for his ability to find the pockets of space in transition up the ice, telling him he had a real "knack" for that.
The game also marked defenseman Charlie McAvoy's first time suiting up since the World Championship.
"I got out there and just wanted to ease right in and makes some plays, and we had a good group out there," said McAvoy. "A lot of guys were skating and making plays and guys were open. It was great finding guys' tape on breakouts."
Leach said that McAvoy will likely not be playing on Monday, as they want to give other players an opportunity.

Sunday Injury Update

Leach said that Emil Johansson is out with a concussion and is going through the concussion protocol (he received an open-ice hit in Saturday's game). Jack Studnicka is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
