BostonBruins.com – Check out how Boston Bruins’ prospects have performed recently through Providence, the NCAA, juniors, and Europe.

NCAA

Elliott Groenewold and Chris Pelosi, both named to Quinnipiac’s leadership group for the 2026-27 season, had tremendous weekends to help the No. 6 ranked Bobcats to a 2-0 start. Groenewold, a junior defenseman, recorded two assists in a 10-2 win over New Hampshire last Friday, before posting another two assists in a 6-3 victory over Merrimack on Saturday. Pelosi, a junior forward, scored two goals in the victory over New Hampshire and notched an assist in the win over Merrimack. Groenewold was originally selected by Boston in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, while Pelosi was originally selected by Boston in the third round (92nd overall) of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Beckett Hendrickson scored a goal in Minnesota’s season opening 3-2 loss to Michigan Tech last Saturday. The junior forward’s tally evened the score mid-way through the middle frame. The Minnetonka, Minnesota, native was originally selected by Boston in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Juniors

Cullen McCrate is off to a hot start in the Ontario Hockey League, totaling one goal and four assists through his first five games of the season. The defenseman scored a goal and added two assists in the Brantford Bulldogs’ 10-4 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on September 26th. The Adrian, Michigan, native was originally selected by Boston in the seventh round (216th overall) of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.

Europe

  • Yuri Ivanov posted a 31-save shutout in a 3-0 win for JHC Spartak over Taifun on Tuesday. The goaltender has played in nine games this season between JHC Spartak and JHC Spartak MHA, allowing just 15 goals. He has recorded a 0.53 goals against average and a .981 save percentage through four games with JHC Spartak.  The Moscow, Russia, native was originally selected by Boston in the second round (56th overall) of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
  • Oscar Olsson started the season strong with Orebro HK Jr. of the Swedish Junior Hockey League. The forward has tallied four goals and five assists through his first 10 games of the season. The Huddinge, Sweden, native was originally selected by Boston in the fourth round (122nd overall) of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.

Providence

Despite starting the season with two losses, there were some positives to take away from the first weekend of action for the Providence Bruins. Both goaltenders shined and provided the team an opportunity to win each game.

Last Friday, Jiri Patera stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced in a 2-1 loss to Utica. Providence drew within one goal early in the third period thanks to a tally from Brendan Gaunce but was unable to find the equalizer. On Sunday, Simon Zajicek stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced in a 2-0 loss to Springfield.
