BOSTON -The National Hockey League announced today, November 1, that Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak has been named the NHL's 2nd Star of the Month for October.
Pastrnak, 26, ranks second in the league in scoring with seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in nine appearances with Boston. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward recorded multiple points in six of the team's nine games in October, helping lead the Bruins to an 8-1-0 record (16 points), the best point percentage (.889) in the NHL and the best nine-game start to a season in franchise history.
The Havirov, Czech Republic native, who was selected by Boston in the first round (25th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, has totaled 247 goals and 274 assists for 521 points in 519 career NHL games with the Bruins.
