3 _ Star of the Week _ Pastrnak

BOSTON - The National Hockey League announced today, March 2, that Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak and Frontline Hero Cathy Draine have been named the NHL stars of the month for February.

Throughout the 2020-21 season, the NHL is celebrating the remarkable efforts of the off-ice stars who make it possible for us to play our games amid a pandemic by honoring frontline heroes from the regions represented by the League's weekly and monthly "Stars."
Cathy Draine is the Director of Community Engagement for the State Police Association of Massachusetts. Draine is a tireless advocate for improving the lives of others and has demonstrated this throughout the Covid 19 pandemic. Some of her spearheaded projects and accomplishments include United We Rise, a Covid 19 Response Day to commemorate Black History Month. Over 350 sets of masks, sanitizers and food boxes were distributed to older adults and families living in affordable housing and members of the Neighborhood Network Center, Inc. She also organized Workout with a Trooper, a program aimed at helping children stay physically fit while safely sheltering in place. Draine also headed Chat with a Trooper, a program helping senior citizens engage in friendly conversations with volunteer Troopers during the Covid 19 crisis. Finally, she was instrumental in planning the Turkey Dinner Distribution Program, where volunteer Troopers distributed 250 donated turkeys and full dinners to vulnerable families in Dorchester and Roxbury.
Pastrnak ranked 2nd in the league during the month of February with nine goals in 11 games. The 24-year-old winger added eight assists to finish the month with 17 points.
The Havirov, Czech Republic native scored a hat trick in the Bruins' come-from-behind victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on February 3 and recorded the primary assist on the overtime game-winner scored by Patrice Bergeron. Pastrnak recorded his second hat trick of the month in the Honda NHL Outdoors Sunday against the Philadelphia Flyers on February 21. The hat trick was the 10th of his career in just 399 career games, passing Bobby Orr for fourth most in Bruins history, placing him behind only Phil Esposito (26 in 625 GP), Cam Neely (14 in 525 GP) and Johnny Bucyk (12 in 1,436 GP). Since entering the league in 2014-15, his 10 hat tricks rank second behind only Alex Ovechkin (14). The hat trick was also the second in NHL outdoor game history (Tyler Toffoli in the 2020 Stadium Series).
Through 12 games this season, Pastrnak has nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. Pastrnak ranks 2nd on the Bruins in goals and 3rd in points. Since making his season debut on January 30, Pastrnak has produced a team-leading 18 points - six more than his next closest teammate. He ranks 4th in the league in points per game (1.50) and has recorded at least one point in nine of his 12 games this season.
