First Responders Night _ Media Wall

BOSTON -The Boston Bruins will host First Responder Night on Monday, March 7, during their game against the Los Angeles Kings to show their support for first responders and frontline workers.

The night will begin with a moment of silence for Massachusetts State Police Trooper Tamar Bucci, who passed on Thursday, March 3, while in the line of duty. Following the moment of silence, the Saugus Fire Department Honor Guard will present the Colors for Monday's game. The national anthem will be performed by Shanna Jackman, a Recording Artist and Massachusetts Public Safety Dispatcher for the Uxbridge Police Department.
Staff Sergeant Roberto Alicea, an active member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, will be the recipient of the 8-Spoked Salute for Monday's game. The Ashburnham, Massachusetts native has served for 17 years and has done three non-combat deployments to aid in humanitarian relief efforts overseas. In addition to his service with the Massachusetts Army National Guard, Staff Sergeant Alicea has also spent the past 25 years as a full-time Firefighter and EMT with the Fitchburg Fire Department. Staff Sergeant Alicea has recently re-enlisted for another six years in hopes to complete 20 years of service with the Massachusetts National Guard.
The photo contest winners for Monday's game are Boston EMTs Cassandra Cohenand Mackenzie Mills. Last year, Cohen and Mills helped with rescue efforts for a third-floor building fire by radioing dispatch to report the emergency and evacuating residents, saving countless lives in the process.
A check for $400,000 will be presented to first responder charities during Monday night's game, including the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts and their New England Firefighter Cancer Fund. The funds were raised on February 6, when the Boston Bruins Foundation hosted the 6th Annual BFit Challenge, presented by National Grid.
The ProShop, powered by '47, will be offering all first responders a 20-percent discount on their purchase in-store only and with a valid ID. Fans can shop at the store on the Hub on Causeway.
The Boston Bruins Foundation will host a 50/50 Raffle, presented by DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports, that will benefit Trooper Bucci and the State Police of Massachusetts Benevolent Fund.
The raffle will run until the third period of the Bruins game on March 10 and has a guaranteed jackpot of $88,000. The raffle can be found online at BostonBruins.com/5050.
