BOSTON -Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, January 11, that the team has recalled forward Joona Koppanen and assigned forward Chris Wagner to Providence.

Koppanen, 24, has played in 34 games for the Providence Bruins this season, scoring five goals and 14 assists for 19 points. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound forward has yet to appear in a National Hockey League game in his career. The Tampere, Finland native was selected by the Bruins in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Wagner, 31, has played in 27 games for the Providence Bruins this season, scoring nine goals and two assists for 11 points. The 6-foot, 195-pound forward made his 2022-23 NHL season debut in a 7-1 victory against the Anaheim Ducks on January 8, posting 12:36 time on ice. The Walpole, Massachusetts native was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the fifth round (122nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
