BOSTON -The Boston Bruins announced today, July 17, that the organization is now accepting new applicants for the 2023-24 Diversity and Inclusion Scouting Mentorship Program.

This is the third year of the Bruins' Diversity and Inclusion Scouting Mentorship Program, which launched in September, 2021. The program aims to mentor and elevate individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and provide a basis for careers in scouting or the hockey industry.

Each participant will be partnered with a mentor in the Bruins' Hockey Operations Department from September, 2023, to May, 2024. Participants will gain knowledge by breaking down film, participating in monthly virtual study sessions and gathering for group workshops with fellow participants in the program. By providing hands-on experience, mentorship and networking opportunities, the program will help empower participants and diversify the pool of candidates for future scouting and hockey operations positions.

Over the past two years, the Bruins have hosted 20 participants through the Diversity and Inclusion Scouting Mentorship Program. These have included Danielle Marmer, who is currently the Player Development and Scouting Assistant for the Boston Bruins, and Joel Martin, who was promoted to Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations of the ECHL's Kalamazoo K-Wings in August of 2022.

"We are thrilled to launch the Diversity and Inclusion Scouting Mentorship Program for a third season," said Bruins Assistant General Manager and Director of Legal Affairs Evan Gold. "Our staff, from top to bottom, has embraced this important initiative and approached it as a setting for reciprocal learning. It has been a pleasure to get to know each of our previous participants, engage with them and hopefully empower them with added scouting expertise and opportunity. We look forward to doing the same with this year's participants."

"The Diversity and Inclusion Scouting Mentorship Program has been an integral 360-degree learning experience, and we are excited to move forward with our third season," said Bruins Director of Hockey Analytics Jeremy Rogalski. "We are grateful for the investment of the Bruins organization and staff into this program and are eager to meet the next wave of passionate mentees that the program connects us with."
