If you want to watch Blues hockey on Blue Note+, Spectrum, Fubo and Prime Video are currently your best options.

DIRECTV / Uverse and Comcast have declined to accept the same fair market deal terms that have been agreed upon by other providers.

Here are the facts:

  • DIRECTV / Uverse and Comcast have declined to accept the same fair market deal terms agreed upon between the NHL/Blues and Spectrum (the largest distributor in the Blues market) and Fubo.
  • The NHL, on behalf of the Blues, Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes, have offered DIRECTV/Uverse and Comcast the same deal terms accepted by Spectrum and Fubo. There is no higher cost that has been put forth to either DIRECTV/Uverse or Comcast.
  • Each team, through the NHL, has been at the bargaining table for months with the current offer. Spectrum and Fubo agreed to terms in September.  DIRECTV / Uverse and Comcast engaged with the NHL in August and have refused to accept the same deal terms.
  • It is a common negotiating strategy for major broadcast distributors to utilize the start of a season as a negotiating tactic. Other tactics include falsely claiming that their customers do not want their hometown team’s broadcast despite fan feedback and anger or claiming a deal is imminent hoping fans will not seek alternatives.
  • In the case of Comcast, a provider for various areas of our broadcast territory, their current offer involves putting NHL hockey games on a more expensive sports pay tier than the tier where comparable sports are currently available. Essentially, this would cause NHL fans to pay an added fee, in addition to the cost of the package that baseball, basketball and college sports require.
  • The NHL and the Blues stand ready to agree to the same contractual terms with DIRECTV/Uverse and Comcast as has been agreed to with Spectrum and Fubo.
  • In the absence of an agreement, the Blues encourage fans to strongly consider subscribing to either Spectrum, Fubo TV or Prime Video to watch Blues games beginning with Saturday’s home game against Columbus. Visit stlouisblues.com/watch for additional details and links to subscribe.
