BLUES VS. CANUCKS

TEAM SNAPSHOTS

BLUES Jake Allen made 26 saves to post his first shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, moving him past Glenn Hall for third on the Blues' all-time shutout list (17).
Colton Parayko scored the game's only goal in the second period.
The Blues killed six Jets power plays in the game and held them without a shot on their final three man-advantage opportunities. Entering the contest, the Jets had the League's second-best power play at 29.3 percent.
"The sacrifices that we made today, the blocked shots by (Robert) Bortuzzo, the big saves by (Jake Allen) - timely saves, he was outstanding tonight," Blues forward Alexander Steen said after the game.
"We were competing," Blues Head Coach Craig Berube added. "We worked and competed as a team tonight."

CANUCKS The Vancouver Canucks had lost four straight games entering Thursday's matchup with the Western Conference-leading Nashville Predators.
That losing streak is over.
Rookie Elias Pettersson scored on a penalty shot and added an assist, while Jake Virtanen and Bo Horvat each had a goal and an assist for the Canucks in a 5-3 win.
"It's good to finally be rewarded, get some bounces with us," Pettersson told NHL.com. "We played really good today. This is what it's going to take from us to be successful. Hopefully we can build on this."
The Canucks improved to 12-16-3 on the season.
