Blues-Avs draws big ratings on FOX Sports Midwest

Sunday's round-robin game between the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche was the highest-rated hockey game in St. Louis since Opening Night 2019 when the team raised its first Stanley Cup championship banner to the rafters.

After a four-and-a-half month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hockey fans in the St. Louis region registered a 6.9 household rating for the game on FOX Sports Midwest, which peaked at 8.3 according to Neilsen.

Prior to the NHL's season pause, the Blues were averaging a 4.4 household rating, which ranked third in the NHL among U.S.-based teams and is a 25 percent increase compared to the previous season.

John Kelly and Darren Pang are calling the round-robin games from a studio back in St. Louis while the team plays at Rogers Place in Edmonton. FOX Sports Midwest will air the next two round-robin games (Aug. 6 vs. Vegas and Aug 9 vs. Dallas). The broadcast schedule for the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be announced at a later date.
