expansion_draft_2017_16x9

The 2021 NHL Expansion Draft is set for July 21 at 7 p.m. CT (ESPN2).
Teams can choose to protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie - OR - eight skaters and one goalie.
Back in 2017, Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong chose the first option (and
he did it again in 2021
, too!)

As you know, the Vegas Golden Knights ended up selecting David Perron from the Blues in 2017. Perron posted a career-best 66 points (16 goals, 50 assists) in 70 games in his only season with Vegas before he eventually returned to the Blues in 2018 after signing a four-year deal.
So, before the Seattle Kraken select a Blues player to join their new team (check out who they can and can't take by clicking here) we thought it would be fun to take a look back at who Armstrong protected the last time around.
