RECAP: Blackhawks Fall to Predators, 3-1

The Blackhawks couldn't mount third-period magic for a second straight game, falling to the Nashville Predators on Friday night at the United Center, 3-1.
Vinnie Hinostroza scored the lone tally while down 3-0 with under four minutes to play and Malcolm Subban made 25 stops in the loss.

STAT OF THE NIGHT: Hinostoza notched a goal in his second straight game, totaling two goals and six assists in nine games since being acquired on April 2.

2nd - 6:33 - Ryan Johansen (Ryan Ellis, Eeli Tolvanen)

Following a scoreless first period, the Predators opened the scoring in the middle frame as Ryan Johansen punched home a loose puck from the top of the crease. Ryan Ellis' shot from a low angle was turned aside by Subban, with the puck bouncing around momentarily after the stop before Johansen was able to redirect it home for a 1-0 lead.

CHI: 0, NSH: 2

2nd - 16:24 - Luke Kunin (Mikael Granlund, Calle Jarnkrok)

Nashville doubled the lead nearly 10 minutes later off an offensive zone cycle. Calle Jarnkrok sent the puck to Mikael Granlund in the corner, who skated down behind the Blackhawks net and fed Luke Kunin at the side of the cage on the far side. Kunin slid a point-blank shot through the pads of Malcolm Subban for his fourth of the season against Chicago.

3rd - 16:05 - Erik Haula (Ryan Ellis, Nick Cousins)

The Predators put the game out of reach late in the third as Erik Haula beat Malcolm Subban from a low angle, throwing a puck towards goal from the corner and seeing it squeak through for a 3-0 advantage with under four minutes to play.

3rd - 16:44 - Vinnie Hinostroza (Wyatt Kalynuk, Nicolas Beaudin)

The Blackhawks got on the board 39 seconds later as Vinnie Hinostroza knocked a Wyatt Kalynuk shot from the point into the net off a scramble in front. It was Hinostroza's second goal in as many games, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback for a second time around.
