The Blackhawks led twice and tied it in the dying seconds to force overtime in a back-and-forth tilt, but ultimately fell to the Florida Panthers on Thursday night in the extra frame, 4-3.
Adam Gaudette netted his first as a Blackhawk, Vinnie Hinostroza scored against his former team and Alex DeBrincat tied things up with his team-leading 24th of the season with under 18 seconds to play to force overtime. Kevin Lankinen made 35 saves on the night.

1st - 13:47 - Adam Gaudette (Dylan Strome, Dominik Kubalik)

Chicago struck first as Adam Gaudette found his first as a Blackhawk off a rebound in front. Dominik Kubalik won a foot race to beat out an icing call in the offensive end, quickly found Dylan Strome in the slot for a shot and Gaudette was waiting on the doorstep to reach around netminder Spencer Knight and put home the rebound chance for a 1-0 lead.

2nd - 7:47 - Alex Wennberg (MacKenzie Weeger, Jonathan Huberdreau) -- PP

The Panthers tied the game on the man advantage in the second frame as Alex Wennberg tipped home a point shot in front. Following an extended period of offensive zone time, Jonathan Huberdreau fed MacKenzie Weeger at the blue line for a one-timer that Wennberg deftly deflected home for a 1-1 game.

2nd -10:09 - Vinnie Hinostroza (Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach)

Florida's lead lasted just over two minutes as the newly-minted Bash Bros. converted off the rush. Brandon Hagel floated a saucer pass over a diving defender to the back post for Vinnie Hinostroza to put home against his former team for a 2-1 advantage.

2nd - 13:09 - Anthony Duclair (Brandon Montour, Grigori Denisenko)

Florida knotted the game for the second time in the second soon after off a rush of their own. Grigori Denisenko chipped a puck from the boards to Brandon Montour, whose shot was turned aside by Kevin Lankinen with the pad, but deflecting right to Anthony Duclair for the easy rebound tally and a 2-2 score.

3rd - 9:09 - Brandon Montour (Alex Wennberg, Markus Nutivaara)

The Panthers took their first lead of the night in the third period as Alex Wennberg found the late trailer Brandon Montour fresh off the bench in the high slot. The defenseman ripped a quick shot from a wide open spot and made it a 3-2 game.

3rd - 19:48 - Alex DeBrincat (Patrick Kane, Wyatt Kalynuk)

The Blackhawks tied things late with the extra skater on as Patrick Kane fed Alex DeBrincat with a cross-ice feed that DeBrincat put home with authority on a one-timer to send the game to overtime, 3-3.
