The Blackhawks pulled within a goal late in the third to make things interesting, but ultimately fell to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night, 3-1.
Connor Murphy scored the lone Chicago tally with a tick under seven minutes to play. Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves in the home loss.

Vancouver opened the scoring midway through the first as a Jake McCabe clearing attempt up the boards bounced off the leg of Nils Hoglander and right to Justin Dowling in the nearby circle. Dowling fed a quick pass to Alex Chiasson in the high slot for a one-timer that rang off the post behind Marc-Andre Fleury and in for a 1-0 advantage.

2nd - 4:28 - Brock Boeser (Quinn Hughes, Jason Dickinson)

Another failed clearance led to a second Canucks goal early in the second period as Luke Schenn kept a puck in at the point, which eventually found its way to Quinn Hughes in the opposite corner. Hughes put a puck towards goal from a low angle that Brock Boeser got a stick to just outside the blue paint, directing it over the pad of of Marc-Andre Fleury for a 2-0 score.

3rd - 13:01 - Connor Murphy (Patrick Kane, Kirby Dach)

Connor Murphy got the Blackhawks on the board for the first time late in the contest. Off an extended shift in the offensive zone, Patrick Kane walked across the top of the far circle set up the sneaking blueliner with a one-timer at the near-side boards, a shot that went back across the grain past Jaroslav Halak on the far side of the net for a 2-1 score.
