AGAINST NEW YORK

The Blackhawks host the New York Rangers on Wednesday night for the first of two meetings between the two clubs this season. Chicago went 1-1-0 against the Rangers last season and has points in nine of their last 16 games (7-7-2) against the Rangers. Forward Teuvo Teravainen leads all club skaters in goals (6), assists (9) and points (15) in 33 career games against the Rangers. Connor Bedard has assists (2A) in back-to-back games against New York and forward Tyler Bertuzzi has goals (2G) in back-to-back games against the Rangers and points (2G, 2A) in four of his last six games against them.

LAST TIME OUT

The Blackhawks fell to the Anaheim Ducks, 7-1, on Sunday evening at the Honda Center. Tyler Bertuzzi scored a power play goal while Connor Bedard and Artyom Levshunov each recorded an assist. Alex Vlasic led all team skaters with three blocked shots and 22:30 of time on ice. Colton Dach and Oliver Moore each tallied three hits. Jason Dickinson shared first among all skaters with nine faceoff wins (9/15; 60%). Arvid Soderblom made a career-high 46 saves, which is the second-most saves made by a goaltender in the NHL this season (Merzlikins; 48).

HOME COOKIN'

The Blackhawks come into Wednesday’s matchup having earned points in six of their last nine (4-3-2) home games. In the nine-game stretch dating back to Oct. 28, the club shares third in the NHL an 89.3% penalty kill (25-for- 28), while the Blackhawks rank seventh in the league with a 23.1% power play percentage (6-for-26). Forward Connor Bedard has 15 points (11G, 4A) over his last 10 home games, including two hat tricks, a league-leading three four-point games and three game-winning goals.

The Blackhawks have recorded power play goals (5G) in four of their last six games. Chicago’s power play is clicking at 27.7% since Nov. 5, which ranks fifth in the NHL over that span. Forward Tyler Bertuzzi a power play goal on Sunday against Anaheim and is tied for second in the NHL with eight power play goals this season. Chicago ranks sixth in the NHL with a penalty kill percentage of 83.3% this season.

Rookie defenseman Artyom Levshunov currently shares third among all NHL rookies with 13 assists in 28 games this season, while his 14 points share fifth. Additionally, his 13 assists and 14 points each lead all club defensemen. Levshunov’s 13 assists are the third-most by a Blackhawks rookie defenseman in the last 20 years, trailing Erik Gustafsson (14 assists in 2015-16) and Brent Seabrook (27 assists in 2005-06). He shares fourth among all league rookie blueliners with 26 hits this season. Levshunov also shares eighth among all NHL rookie defensemen with 26 blocked shots in 2025-26.

Dec. 10, 1944: The Blackhawks and Rangers played to a 1-1 tie at Madison Square Garden. Fido Purpur scored the lone goal for Chicago with assists going to Russ Brayshaw and Cully Dahlstrom. The tie gave the Blackhawks a 2-10-2 record on the season.
On Nov. 30, 1926, the Blackhawks and Rangers met for the first time in NHL history. New York defeated Chicago in overtime, 4-3. Dick Irvin, Babe Dye and Mickey MacKay each scored for the Blackhawks. It was Chicago’s first overtime game in team history.
