There are some records in professional sports that will never be broken and at least two of them belong to the Chicago Blackhawks: Winning the 1938 Stanley Cup with a losing regular-season record and Bill Mosienko's hat trick in an incredible 21 seconds.
This month marks the 66th anniversary of Mosienko's feat. In 1952, on the last day of the season before a sparse crowd at Madison Square Garden, both the Hawks and Rangers were winding out of the season. Going into the third period, Chicago trailed 6-2.

Rangers rookie goalie Lorne Anderson was playing what would be his third and final game in the NHL. After giving up seven goals in his last outing, Anderson was finishing a strong performance until Mosienko made history.
Blackhawks center Gus Bodnar fed the speedy Mosienko for his first tally, as he went around veteran defenseman Hy Buller to beat Anderson with a 12-foot wrist shot at 6:09. Bodnar won the ensuing ice faceoff and took the puck inside the blue line before feeding "Mosey," who cut to his left around Buller and rifled a 12-footer past Anderson from nearly the same spot as his first goal.
Bodnar then won the next faceoff, but this time fed the puck to George Gee on the left wing. He went into the Rangers zone, faked a shot and passed to Mosienko, who cut to his left while moving closer to the net. At 6:30, he lifted a short backhander over Anderson on the opposite side of his first two goals- 21 seconds after his first goal.
Blackhawks Head Coach Ebbie Goodfellow left Mosienko out for the next faceoff, which Bodnar won again. He got the puck to Mosey as he sped into the Ranger zone, only to fake out Anderson another time but miss a virtually wide-open net by inches!
Backed by Mosienko's amazing feat, the Hawks rallied to win the game 7-6. In his rookie season in 1942, Mosienko had also scored 2 goals in 21 seconds against the Rangers.
However, his 21-second hat trick in 1952 is one that will almost certainly stand forever!
