The Blackhawks and Jets will be honoring the Humboldt Broncos by both wearing "BRONCOS" on the back of their jerseys in place of name plates for tonight's game in Winnipeg. In addition, the Chicago Blackhawks will match a $25,000 donation from both the Jets and National Hockey League to The Humboldt Broncos Hockey Club in response to yesterday's tragedy. The Chicago Blackhawks join the rest of the Hockey community in extending sincerest condolences to the Humboldt Broncos and their families.
The Winnipeg Jets, in conjunction with the Chicago Blackhawks and the National Hockey League, announced today plans to support the Humboldt Broncos hockey club and community. While the thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all of those affected by the tragedy that occurred Friday evening, the teams have planned today a number of events surrounding tonight's game between the Jets and Blackhawks.
